Aluminum inserts significantly increase the holding strength of slatwall grooves. Without inserts, standard MDF slatwall grooves support moderate loads. With aluminum inserts, capacity increases substantially. For light merchandise — accessories, folded apparel, small packaged goods — plain panels without inserts may be sufficient. For heavier merchandise — shoes, boxed goods, tools, any dense product — specify panels with aluminum inserts.
