Aluminum inserts significantly increase the holding strength of slatwall grooves. Without inserts, standard MDF slatwall grooves support moderate loads. With aluminum inserts, capacity increases substantially. For light merchandise — accessories, folded apparel, small packaged goods — plain panels without inserts may be sufficient. For heavier merchandise — shoes, boxed goods, tools, any dense product — specify panels with aluminum inserts.

Can slatwall panels be installed horizontally or vertically?

Standard slatwall panels (4'H x 8'W) are installed horizontally — the grooves run left-to-right across the 8' width. Vertical panels (8'H x 4'W) are also available with grooves running the 4' height, used for specific display configurations or feature walls.
